Color Contact Lenses - Get New Eye Colour!

I love color contact lenses. I probably tried all colors you can imagine, by different brands. One thing I learned was that some contacts look great on my eyes, while others make them look fake or terrible. I learned the rules of choosing the best color lens for your eyes after a lot of trial-and-error.

To start, you should know that color contact lenses can be of two types - opaque lenses and enhancement color contacts. Enhancements color lenses can give your eyes a different hue, or make them appear brighter and more radiant. They are suitable for those with blue, green or grey eyes. They are partially transparent, which makes them appear very natural.

Optically-colored lenses, on the contrary, can completely alter your eye color. These lenses are not transparent and are suitable for those with dark eyes. If you are a natural brown color and want sky-blue eyes, opaque color contacts will be required. Enhancements won't work for you. People with very light eyes can wear either type of lens, depending on how they wish to look.

Color contacts for subtle changes

If you have naturally blue eyes, aqua or blue color contacts will work wonders for you. It may seem strange that someone with blue eyes would need colored lenses. Because blue enhancement lenses can make a great difference in your appearance. Your eyes will still be blue but they will look brighter and catch more attention. My eyes are blue, and I love wearing contacts with blue tints. My favorite Acuvue 2 color is "Ocean Blue".

Also, blue tints work well for naturally gray eyes. The color appears not as intensive blue as over blue eyes, more a blue-grey, but it looks very natural and attractive. Best choices here are Freshlook Dimensions or Acuvue 2 Colors.

Green color contacts look excellent over blue or grey eyes. This is because jade green is mixed in with your natural colour.

And to add sparkling to your eyes you can try Freshlook Radiance color contacts. Eden is my favorite (for blue and grey eyes). The contrast between autumn and spring colors is striking with hazel eyes.

Color contact lens for dramatic changes

Optically tinted lenses will make brown eyes appear dramatically different. Acuvue2 colors opaque, Freshlook colorblends, or Illusions at Ciba Vision are the best options.

Freshlook Colorblends Sapphire, or Amethyst, are the best colors to match dark eyes and hair. It will be dramatic and no one will notice the difference.

If you have blue or grey eyes, but want to change your color to something completely different, go for honey color contacts. These lenses will make you appear more warm. You can further enhance the effect by wearing natural colors with a warm lipstick.

Color contact lens safety

If you already wear contact lenses to improve your eye sight, you know how to put them in and how to care for them properly. If you only want cosmetic color contacts, ask lens town your doctor about wearing them safely.

The most important rule is that contact lenses with color can block more oxygen than clear prescription lenses. The color part actually doesn't allow for oxygen to pass. You should avoid wearing your color lenses for over 6-8 hours per day. This is bad for your eyes. Also, you shouldn't sleep in your color lenses.

Treat yourself to a pair of color contact lenses. A pair of color contact lenses can enhance the appearance of a woman as much as sparkling eyes. It is great fun to switch out your lenses every now and again.
