Things to try and do and find out in Ireland

With rolling green hills, charm and rich culture, Ireland is packed full of wondrous things to do and sights to see. If you visit Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland There is an amazing variety of activities and historical landmarks that can be found on this small island.

DublinIreland's capital city, Dublin is awash with Irish tradition and charm. There are numerous bus tours across the city, allowing visitors to soak up as much of the history that you can. There's a wide range of things to visit in close proximity to the town's center. Dublin Castle is a mix match of various Irish stories, and includes an ancient Royal chapel and Viking fortress. In addition, the Guinness Store House is a must-see. It allows you to learn about the brewing process and transportation system; you can even enjoy a pint for free! Walk down the street to St Patrick's Cathedral to check out the local historical background.

The Giants Causeway
The Causeway is comprised of stunning cliffs and tranquil bays, mixed in with an imposing atmosphere and myth. Explore beyond the stunning landscape and see the lifestyles of past generations amongst small harbours along the coast. There are stunning fishing lodges and rock formations along the coastthat will enchant you.

Cork
In The South West of Ireland, Cork is the second largest town in Ireland. A well-known tourist spot, Cork is packed full of exciting things to do with your loved ones, such as the Model Railway and National Aquarium. There's a wide variety of entertainment, theater and dance throughout Cork, which is great to entertain you in the evening and is a wonderful place to find distinctive Irish souvenirs in antique boutiques.

Bru na Bainne- The Passage of Tombs
The World Heritage site is one of the most important prehistoric site in Europe, and it is a must to experience during your visit. It is more ancient than Egyptian Pyramids and contains around 40 passage graves. Situated on the River Boyne, the area is also ideal to explore by walking.

The Brazen Head Pub, Dublin
The Brazen Head pub is believed to be one of the oldest of Dublin and has a the traditional Irish character. The pub is said to be haunted, and dating back to 1198. The Brazen Head is a ideal spot to visit for a traditional Irish lunch and a pint Guinness.

Galway Cathedral
The cathedral is located on the riverbanks of River Corrib in Galway City located in the middle of a lively community. The cathedral is regularly used for services and is an excellent location to explore the religious pathways of Ireland. Even if you are not religious yourself, the Cathedral will enrich you with Irish traditions and culture. A great time to visit is in the Galway International Oyster Festival between 22nd- 25th September 2011.

Belfast
The Northern Ireland Capital is packed with activities, entertainment shopping, museums and shopping. It is best to go is during the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival held from 2nd to the 31st of May, 2011. The festival is a ireland maps showcase of international talent that bring music, comedy, and theatre on the streets to the heart of Belfast.

Ireland is one of the most intriguing and fascinating destinations in Europe and is somewhere that you should visit. Whether you go to explore the countryside in a lush setting, try the cuisine of the region or immerse yourself in the history and tradition. Ireland is sure to please.
